About the exhibition:

Solo exhbition at exhibition house Skovhuset Kunst & Kultur, spanning two floors and an annexe room.

This exhibition takes a starting point in the notion of the public "conversation". It is a broad understanding that reaches out to different arenas for public speech through times. The ancient Greek theater, Japanese theater traditions Bunraku and Kabuki, onwards to modern fora, like digital platforms, technology and screens.

Three words that continue to come up in public conversations are "growth", "mobile" and "communication". As themes they find their way into the varying versions of the mobile forum.

The "conversations" grow and turn personal, humorous, darker, and into fiction and narratives on how an individual connects with collective stories. Graphical elements from the collages become the onset to sculptural objects.

In the art works there are people who seek to find out their relationship with the surrounding world. There's the South Pole exploration team and the map making scientists who create a world where dimensions seem to be still more deviating from the norm, based on the challenges in determining the exact position of the South Pole. Mass tourism, archeological excavations, science fiction and journalists who listen to silence rather than words.

There is also an internal dialogue taking place between art works from different periods.

Collage work from the last 10 years is combined with new work from 2018-19. And older sculptural work from the past 20 years is reworked in collage, or older collage reworked in the form of new painting and new sculpture.

Most of the photographic material is recorded while in residence in Tokyo, Kyoto, Athens and Rome in the past couple of years.
