"Jennys Occasional Songs" , The Gallery of Danish Graphic Artists, Cph, DK 2005 (solo)

Art work:

Collage, ink jet on foam board, dimensions: 30 x 830 cm, alternatively hung in two rows of 30 x 440 cm                                                                                                                     The title is borrowed from the pop singer Jennifer Lopez pop hit. In this song JLO sings about still feeling like the girl from back home, while at the same time being a rich and famous celebrity.

The work shows a long row of women, of which some are anonymous and others are famous or well known to the public, or from advertisements. They all were presented in a media arena, and deal with self representation in various degrees of professionalism, in which power, sexuality, and gender roles are put into play.

The piece has been shown in different constellations, either with the animation "Amazing grace" or as part of the trilogy "Jennys Occasional songs". All three pieces were created between 2003- 05

Art work supported by The Danish Arts Council
