Cut -Out Collages
In her collages Kirsten uses analogue ways of working together with digital tools, in order to work with transitions and translation in processing images between photocopy, cut- outs, scanning, photographing, gluing, printing.
She uses her own photographs as well as found public domain resources. In her cut-out collages she utilizes paper of various kinds, mfd boards, plastic, paint and pencils.
The interplay between the digital collages and the hand- made ones is of increasing interest to her, and oftentimes collages are created in both digital and hand-made versions, in order to work with the different ways the analogue, materially based image is different from the digitally based image.
